Making it on Minimum Wage in El Paso
El Paso Times Series Covers Poverty in El Paso:
Thank you to Louie Gilot for shedding light on poverty statistics and dispelling myths through real-life struggles and triumphs. Thank you to The El Paso Times for this front-page, five-part series that reinforces our mission at the Women's Fund to connect women to the vital resources that foster education, individual leadership and economic growth. The Women's Fund was in part created to address educational needs of single mothers, who, along with their young children, are most impacted by the challenges of poverty in our hometown.

Social Currency
To reinforce the support a woman may need in order to advance in this challenging economy, the Women’s Fund of El Paso provides the social currency model. Many obstacles women face in earning living wages, raising children, and developing their talents and leadership skills can be overcome by coming together and sharing both their time and talents. We advocate that women come together to help one another, to exchange talents and time.
