Profile of Network Members (to date)
Our members have chosen discussion forums as the number one way to give and participate in the Women’s Fund, followed by giving circles, donations and ‘sponsor a woman’, with equal interest in social currency and polls.
Higher Education dominates the education level of our members (ranging from ‘some higher ed to college degree to advanced professional degree).
Occupations include students, fellows, educators, college instructors and a retired teacher to computer programmers, graphic designers, decorators, accountants, financial advisors, attorneys, executive directors, a president/coo and elected officials.
Our membership covers a wide age range, from 21 to 69, with the majority in their thirties and forties, followed by the 21-29 age range.
Our Members are from almost every zip code in the City of El Paso (16 of 19 zip codes).
The ethnic makeup of our membership is dominated by Hispanic (Mexican ancestry) and White (European ancestry) and includes Hispanic, American Indian and Multiracial.
The majority of our members are bilingual, followed by 'don’t speak Spanish but would like to learn.
The majority of our members have children ranging from 1 child to 6 children. Grade school and high school aged children lead, followed by infants & toddlers, with a few 'adult children', 'married', 'in careers' and 'with kids of their own.
The majority of our members have been in El Paso for generations with a few being relatively new to our community and originally from Maryland, New York, Missouri, New Mexico, California, Alabama, Durango, Mexico, Seguin, Austin, Houston and India.
