Power of the Purse - 2009

The response to 'Bubbles, Baubles & Bags' has been "Wow!" We think this three-letter word sums up the night very well. The food, the decorations, the BAGS!, the attendance of 475 fabulous people, the VOLUNTEERS. Everything was just fantastic. We are pleased to report that we raised a grand total of over $130,000.00.

Power of the Purse benefit brings out bling factor event to help single moms

Dozens of luxury handbags, donated by celebrities and El Paso women and retailers, will be auctioned for charity at the Power of the Purse "Bubbles, Baubles & Bags" event May 7. Proceeds will benefit the Women's Fund of El Paso, which provides scholarships for single mothers and other deserving women and girls.

This year's loot includes purses donated by Gwyneth Paltrow, Miley Cyrus, Glenn Close, Whoopi Goldberg, Vivica Fox and Ashley and Jessica Simpson, among other celebrities.
