A 501(c)(3) Workforce & Economic Development, Living Wage Initiative that focuses on Investing in Human Capital through Scholarships, Retention Solutions & Job Placement.
Project ARRIBA is an El Paso-based economic and workforce development initiative, incorporated on December 16, 1998, as a public, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. The mission of Project ARRIBA is to provide long-term high skilled training and case management services to eligible El Paso County residents who require the occupational skills necessary to access jobs in hard to fill demand occupations that pay a living wage of at least $11.00 per hour, with benefits and a career path. It is built on the premise that a true employment and training initiative must provide a comprehensive, integrated program of occupational, motivational and workplace skills training.
The organization has efficiently, effectively, and pro-actively changed the paradigm for living-wage models. Project ARRIBA was recognized for the award-winning, long-term training and case management services that permanently remove participants from poverty. Last year, Project ARRIBA helped 538 people prepare to enter the workforce in critically needed occupations.
The project works by starting with the needs of the local employer who is willing to pay a living wage of at least $11 per hour, identifying what barriers the community faces in filling these positions, and finally recognizing the capacity for local training providers so that all three have a seamless and fruitful partnership.
