The Border AIDS Partnership was established in 1994 to strengthen HIV/AIDS education, prevention and care services in the border counties of El Paso, Texas, Southern New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico. El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico are two of the poorest metropolitan areas in the United States. This poverty is reflected in the low level of HIV/AIDS preventive and treatment care for residents in the region. The Border AIDS Partnership is committed to increasing services to underserved areas, increasing services to underserved marginalized populations – adult men and women, as well as young people under the age of 25.
