GEM'S GEMS Books for Kids is a non-profit agency whose mission is to put books into the hands of kids. Our organization had given away over 160,000 books in the last four years. Some of these books are brand new, others are gently used.
Women with young children can come to our location in Placita Santa Fe and take books for their children. Also, we have many teacher resource books, and other materials that might be helpful for women going back to school. We can also provide books for women who run day care centers.

DO something

The One Big Idea
Use the power of the internet to help young people change the world.

The Mission
We believe young people have the power to make a difference. It is our aim to inspire, support and celebrate a generation of do-ers: people who see the need to do something, believe in their ability to get it done, and then take action.

Our website is a community where young people learn, listen, speak, vote, volunteer, ask, and take action to make the world a better place. Currently, only 23% of this generation actively volunteers. Our hope is to create a do something generation: a world where more than 51% of young people are involved with community action.
